Overview

Medical Animation from a studio in India

Light Animation makes medical and science animation at our studio in Jaipur. We work for drug companies, medical device makers, hospitals and health educators across India and abroad. We make mechanism-of-action (MoA) videos, which show how a drug works in the body. We also make device demos, surgery videos and patient education films.

We keep the science right through a clear process. We build from the sources your clinical team gives us. We model devices from their CAD (3D design) files. Your medical and regulatory reviewers check each stage before we render. Every scene of cells or body parts is checked against your sources, not our guesses.

We prepare the files for the places medical videos are really shown. That means conference screens, sales tablets, hospital displays, patient portals and websites.

Why work with us

How we keep medical animation accurate

Medical animation only works if it is correct. We build from the sources you give us. These can be published drug data, device CAD files, procedure notes or scans. Your clinical or regulatory reviewers check each stage before we move on. The work ranges from close-up videos of how a drug acts on cells to surgery videos and simple patient guides. For devices, we use our 3D product animation process. For training videos, see educational animation.

Clapperboard icon

Shows what cameras cannot

We can clearly show a drug locking onto a cell, blood flow or an implant going in. We can also show the inside of a device. No operating theatre is needed.

Eye icon

Review built into the schedule

We plan the script, storyboard and animation checks around your medical and regulatory reviewers. That way, fixes happen early.

Settings 2 icon

Two audiences, one production

A detailed version for doctors and a simple version for patients can use the same models and scenes.

Database icon

Device data in, accurate model out

We open your STEP, SolidWorks and STL files directly, so the device's shape and parts are exact.

What affects the price of Medical Animation

The four things we look at when scoping a quote.

Fixed before work starts
  1. Science detail

Whole organs take less work than close-ups of cells, receptors and moving molecules.

  2. Device files and body models

Cleaning up a device CAD file (STEP or SolidWorks) is quicker than sculpting body parts and making tissue look real.

  3. Length and depth

A 60-second product teaser costs less than a 3-minute surgery training guide for doctors.

  4. Review rounds

Standard review at each stage costs less than several rounds with a medical board and senior medical artists.

Choosing a format

3D Medical Animation vs. Live-Action Surgical Filming

See why lifelike 3D animation is often the better choice for explaining medical devices and drugs.

CLEAR AND CLEAN

Lifelike 3D Medical Animation

Shows what happens inside cells, cutaway views and tiny events. There is no blood on screen and no operating room to book.

Best Suited For
MoA videos, surgery training, device sales to hospitals and patient education.
Standard Production Timeline
3 to 5 weeks, with medical review and sign-off at each stage.
Key Advantages
  • Shows biology too small to see
  • Clean, calm look for patients
  • Built straight from device CAD files
  • Any camera angle and any light
Ask about medical animation
HARD TO FILM

Live-Action Surgical Filming

Real video shot in an operating theatre. Fluids, tools and poor light often block the view, and patient privacy rules limit what you can film.

Best Suited For
Basic hospital records and internal case reviews by doctors.
Standard Production Timeline
4 to 6 weeks for hospital permissions, ethics approval and filming in a sterile room.
Key Advantages
  • Shows a real operating theatre
  • Blocked views and fluids in the way
  • Strict patient consent and privacy rules (such as HIPAA)
  • Cannot show what happens inside cells

PROVEN METHODOLOGY

How a Medical Animation Is Made

Scientific visuals that are true to the anatomy and the science, and clear to watch.

  1. 01

    Research & Brief

We go through your clinical sources and how the drug or device works. Then we agree on what the video must explain.

  2. 02

    Write the Science Script

We write a voice-over script. It explains a surgery, a cell process or how a drug works (its mechanism of action, or MOA). It stays accurate and simple.

  3. 03

    Plan the Storyboard

We plan the camera moves, the cells and tissue, the body parts and the pacing in a storyboard.

  4. 04

    Build & Animate in 3D

We build 3D models of cells, molecules and body parts, and animate them to match your sources.

  5. 05

    Medical Review & Fixes

Your clinical and medical reviewers check the work in rounds, and we correct it until they sign off.

  6. 06

    Final Render & Handover

We render the final video in 4K for conferences, investor decks and medical training.

FAQ

Medical Animation questions

Costs, timelines, what to provide, revisions and ownership, answered for this service.

01

How do you ensure a medical animation is scientifically accurate?

We work only from sources you give us and approve. These can be published drug data, official product monographs, device CAD files, procedure guides or scans. Your medical, legal and regulatory reviewers sign off the script, the storyboard and the animation at set points. We record every change.
02

What does a medical animation cost in India?

Short device or concept videos start from our ₹15,000 package. MoA and surgery videos with custom body and molecule models usually start from ₹75,000. The final price depends on how complex the science is, the length and the number of review rounds.
03

How long does a mechanism-of-action video take?

Usually 4 to 8 weeks. Script and storyboard approval takes one to two weeks. Modelling and animation take three to five weeks. The rest of the time goes to medical review and the final render.
04

Can you animate from our device CAD files or from CT and MRI scans?

Yes. We open STEP, IGES, SolidWorks and STL device files directly. For body models, we can also use DICOM files, the standard format for CT and MRI scans. Please send them with the right permissions.
05

Can the same animation serve both doctors and patients?

Yes, and this is common. We make a detailed version with full medical terms for doctors and sales teams. We also make a simple version for patients, with plain words and no graphic images. Both use the same 3D models.
06

What formats do you deliver for conferences and hospital screens?

You get master videos in 4K and 1080p. We also size versions for conference screens, sales tablets, hospital displays, websites and social media. Still images for print and posters are included.
07

Do we own the animation and the 3D models?

Yes. After the final payment, you get full commercial rights, the master files and the agreed 3D models. Your team can reuse the models for later training or marketing.
